attractions

We are a short hop to the South West Coast Path, so with our local knowledge we can signpost you to routes for the avid walker and to points where a leisurely stroll near a pub 'sounds good'!

You can find family-friendly, surfing and Blue Flag beaches locally, most have dog friendly areas. Plus there are many local rural beaches each with their unique attractions: sea, sand, rock pools and coastal walks.

There are villages steeped in history (and mystery), museums of sea-faring life, shipwrecks and castles; historic houses and qwerky homes for gnomes.

We have local park amusement attractions with outdoor and undercover activities, catering for all ages and adventurousness.

Beautiful gardens: big and small, all of which have their particular seasonal splendours. Spend some time in town parks with paddling pools, beaches with sea pools, indoor fun pools and the wide-open sea.

Farmers markets, weekly pannier markets, designer shopping, local village shops or superstores can all be found a short drive away.

Select a treat and find something to eat, maybe a Cream tea, or a meal at a farm restaurant, fish restaurant, gastro pub, or take-away.

Potters, furniture makers, antiques and curios, painters, craft markets can all be found locally.

Bike hire, surfboard hire, fishing trips, shooting courses, horse riding, and mountain boarding are some of the experiences for you to try.

The Tarka trail is nearby and shares its route with the SW Coast Path around the Taw and Torridge estuaries.

Hartland has local grocery stores, an organic shop, post office, pubs and take-away. Both Bideford and Bude have a good selection of shops.
